Converting Movies to .divx/.avi |
DVD Decrypter is great for ripping Movies from DVD, but has no conversion abilities. The BEST option for converting from *.VOB format to *.divx ( which you can rename to *.avi ) is DIVX CONVERTER. ( DivX 6.8 is Best )
BUT, since it's a trial version, there's a trick!
1) Find and download an earlier copy - I recommend DivX 6.8, because it can upgrade your copy resolution up to FULL 1080p HD quality, with NO blockiness in your copy.
2) BEFORE installing, set your date/time forward by, say 10 years. Installing and performing a first-run of the program, will turn the 15-day trial version into a 10-year and 15-day trial.
3) Install program. Rip some short .VOB file from a disk using your ripping software. Then use DivX converter to convert to DivX.
4) After converting 1 file, reset your date/time, and if you start to convert again, you'll see that the converter trial period is now YEARS long. Click the 'do not show...' messages.
